ABOUT ARTS FOR ALL CHICAGO

In 2010, Arts For All launched a pilot program to bring the arts to in-need children in the Chicago area.  This pilot program focused on Seward Elementary, a CPS K-8 school in the South Side neighborhood of Back of the Yards.  Arts For All Chicago brought to this school a 10-week immersive theater workshop called Shakespeare For All.  With the help of Cara Winter and an amazing team of volunteer and professional Teaching Artists, 42 students got a chance to act, design & produce their own, 30-minute version of The Tempest, utilizing Shakepeare’s First Folio text.  Arts For All Chicago is working hard to raise funds to repeat another 10 week program for Seward Elementary School and is also starting a volunteer program in local hospitals in 2012.
