AFA’s Professional Development Day!
On September 8, 2013, Arts For All hosted a Professional Development day for all of our teaching artists, key volunteers and staff. We focused on evaluation and assessment techniques we learned earlier this year from consultant, Russell Granet. You can find out more about Russell Granet’s approach to arts education on his website, Arts Education Resource. The evaluation techniques we learned from him will make it possible for Arts For All to monitor and ensure our success in the classroom.
Here’s a picture of Arts For All’s wonderful Executive Director, Anna Roberts Ostroff, addressing the group of teaching artists, volunteers and staff.
In this picture, AFA Teaching Artist, Diamond St. Thomas, instructs the group in evaluation and assessment techniques. In addition to her work with Arts For All, Diamond has served as a Program Assessment Consultant at Young Audiences New York, Project Bully Free Zone and YouthBridge-NY.
Here’s a picture of everyone who participated in our Professional Development Day. Arts For All is fortunate to have such a talented, committed and professional team of teaching artists, volunteers and staff!
The overriding refrain of the day was “We are here for the kids.”
